Rachel and I were encouraged by the kids practical application of this first One Another dialogue. When asked for modern day equivalents to foot washing, Caleb mentioned washing dishes and Leah said it would be cleaning the toilet after her brothers had used it. Other ideas were shared and the kids have been serving each other this week in these areas...and enjoying it! "Now that you know these things you will be blessed if you do them." vs 17
ReplyDeleteWe walked through this together and came out with dirty feet! Seriously, our ideas were as follows: Claire’s act of service was a smile and good attitude when first waking up! Anita was going to (continue!) to make coffee in the morning even though she can’t stand coffee! Steve comittted to cleaning the toilet downstairs, even though he never uses that one! Nathan’s act of service is to clean out his dads truck, truly a dirty job! As odd as it sounds, we’re looking forward to serving one another.8
